Effective Time Management

“Perhaps the very best question that you can memorize and repeat, over and over, is, “what is the most valuable use of my time right now?”
Brian Tracy

You can not relive the past; if you waste your time, then you have lost a valuable opportunity to do something useful with your life. So use your time to the best advantage.

To be able to use your time to the best possible advantage, use time management. Time management is very important and is able to help you meet your work deadlines; besides that, it helps you reach your work goals and, what’s most important, it allows you to have free time for your family and recreation.

Below are some tips for effective time management in your business and work:

1. Determine your business/work objective.
If you don’t have an objective in your work or business, then there are two things that can cause damage. Your business can become misdirected and your time can be wasted. Because of that, the first important step so that you are effective in time management is to determine your business/work objective; your objective will help you in reaching your business goals.

2. Determine your business/work priorities.
Determining what is most important in your business/work is the primary key to being effective in time management. However, people often encounter obstacles in choosing their business/work priorities. Below are some tips for determining priorities:
• what is it necessary to accomplish?
• what produces the maximum results?
• what gives you the greatest joy?
When you determine priorities, you are focused on your business/work, so you can reach your deadlines in a timely manner.

3. Use discipline in your time management.
Effective time management demands discipline. Discipline in time management makes you value time itself; begin this discipline with the smaller things first, such as: discipline your schedule for one entire day; then raise the level of discipline to organize your business/work schedule, and finally, with discipline you are able to reach your business/work objectives.

Don’t spend your time wastefully, but allow yourself to use your time as effectively as possible, so that the time you have is adding value to your life.
